Dunmanway Agricultural Show is delighted to welcome the recent announcement of over €1 million in funding for agricultural shows across Ireland for 2026. The funding was confirmed by Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary TD, and is being distributed through the Irish Shows Association to support shows nationwide.
Agricultural shows play a vital role in rural communities across Ireland, providing an important platform to showcase livestock, farming excellence, local food producers, crafts and rural enterprise. They are also a cornerstone of community life, bringing together farming families, volunteers, exhibitors, local businesses and visitors for a celebration of agriculture and rural heritage.
For Dunmanway Agricultural Show, this funding is extremely important. It allows the committee to continue developing and improving the show while maintaining the high standards expected by exhibitors, visitors and competitors alike. Support such as this helps ensure the show can invest in facilities, enhance safety measures, expand classes and competitions, and provide an enjoyable day out for the whole community.
Like many agricultural shows across the country, Dunmanway Agricultural Show relies heavily on the dedication of volunteers and the continued support of sponsors and partners. This government investment recognises the significant contribution that agricultural shows make to rural life and local economies, while helping to secure their future for generations to come.
The committee of Dunmanway Agricultural Show would like to sincerely thank the Department of Rural and Community Development, Minister Dara Calleary, and the Irish Shows Association for their continued support of agricultural shows throughout Ireland.
As preparations continue for the upcoming show season, the committee looks forward to welcoming exhibitors, traders and visitors to another successful Dunmanway Agricultural Show.
